As you may be aware, the MUD is currently working on
some field improvements at Olson Meadows. At the request of
many of our residents, one baseball field and one soccer field
are being leveled and grass is being planted to improve the
playing experience. Over the next several weeks, both fields
will be surrounded with construction fencing and access to these
areas will be restricted to the construction team.
The newly planted playing surface will require several
weeks of extensive irrigation so if you see higher than normal
irrigation in these areas, this is normal. As always, if you
see large sprays of water or possible vandalism of this project,
please contact the MUD's general manager as soon as possible;
Janey Miller, 554-6046 and email at
GM@fernbluffmud.org
We ask for your patience during this construction time
and ask that these two fields not be used; please feel free to
play on the two additional fields. Additionally, we realize
that many of our residents use the trail system along Olson
Meadows and we want to point out that parking in this area may
be filled, at times, with construction equipment. There are 4
small parking lots in this area and we ask that visitors to the
park, as much as possible, use the two parking lots at the far
ends of the park.
We are working fast and furiously to have our fields
improved for the Fall 2010 play season!
As we are sure you've seen, construction by the City of
Round Rock of the additional two lanes on Wyoming Springs is
underway. This construction is presenting many challenges
for our residents as we try to manage the loss of a turn
lane, heavy equipment, standing water, and traffic delays.
A new challenge will occur this week as the driveways at the
Community Center will be removed and temporary, gravel
driveways will be installed. The Center is open
and we are continuing to book for parties, events
and classes but the entrances will be different. As the
work continues, one driveway will always be open but which
driveway that is may change frequently.
We will be putting up signs that say Open or Closed as
needed.
Thank you to all our residents, as your patience and
understanding and even your humor, help us as we navigate
this ever changing landscape here at the Center.
STAGE 2 - WATER RESTRICTIONS LIFTED for the FERN BLUFF
MUD
Notification was received today, Friday, October 23, 2009 from
the City of Round Rock that the Stage 2 water restrictions have
been lifted.
The Fern Bluff Municipal Utility District receives its wholesale
water from the City of Round Rock and due to recent rains, Lake
Georgetown is now 95% full.
Thank you for all of your efforts to conserve water over the
past several months.
We ask everyone to continue wise water use to help us protect
our most important natural resource.
Again, thank you for your understanding and help during this
drought.
The Fern Bluff MUD Board of Directors.
The MUD Board is seeking interested residents to
serve on newly established resident subcommittees. These
committees will help decide the focus of our MUD's community
center, parks, and district wide recreational events. If you
want to be part of planning the future, have a talent to share
or just wish to be involved, please submit your name for any of
the following committees:
