Veterans Memorial Park was first
developed as an idea after a Stone Canyon resident, Mr. Jim Cours, a
veteran himself, asked if plans were in place for any park to be
established in honor or our Veterans of War. The Veterans Memorial Park
was created on these two acres of land, with the support of the MUD and
input from Retired Colonel Director Joe Teiber. This park includes a
large American flag, Texas flag and a flag representing each of the
branches of the military - Army, Air Force Navy, Marines and Coast
Guard. This park also includes a beautiful waterfall, benches, walkway,
picnic tables, toddler plays cape, train and swings. This park reminds
us of the importance of honoring those who have lived and died for our
freedoms in the past and for those who are risking their lives for us
now.
